 November 2009 Apologies for any inconvenience caused by not having Flying Carpet in commercial operation. The last 8 years have been the most amazingly challenging, exciting and fulfilling years of my life. Through the charter business I have met so many interesting people and made way too many friends to count. I still think this is an amazing business opportunity and it has taken a lot of thinking to decide no to run FC this summer. I plan to give her a re-fit in December, including new mainsails, to get her in top condition ready for sale. she could easily be brought under Safe Ship Management under new ownership for chartering in New Zealand, and also has all the gear for Category 1 offshore cruising. She would make an excellent voyaging home for a family, as I know having grown up on her. We can still be contacted through this sight and will update it with relevant information regarding the sale as it come to hand. A huge thanks for all the support over the years.
